MPLS Homey Fall Fest

Got this note from Jeff @ All-City...

We just had homey fall fest this past weekend. Here are some photos from it. This is MPLS bike culture at it's finest. Piss drunk and in the woods. It's kind of like looking into a parallel universe, what urban culture looks like in the country.

I personally don't think I'd want to be caught piss drunk in the woods with this guy...

...or this guy...

...but this looks like fun...

...and so does this...!

Major Taylor lives again

I bet Major Taylor is rolling in his grave at 140 rpm trying to bust out and cop a fresh pair of his signature shoes. Word on the street is Nike Labs went rummaging through Taylor's estate looking for some lost artifacts. They came across a sketch book covered in graff, newspaper clippings and shoes designs.

The next piece of Nike ebay gold comes fresh from one of these designs that Taylor and his local cobbler spent years designing to make left turns on wood even faster. Not only do they fit in cages, but in a time of extreme prejudice you could be hated on in style.

Nice ride, and you gotta love the hat. Keep it rolling!

Interesting bike rack

Saw this bike rack outside an animal clinic by my house. They made quite an effort to find a place in a cramped part of town for people to lock up, which I think is pretty impressive and a sign that attitudes toward bike commuters really are changing for the better...

Stussy Brooks - Collaboration #82349

So a team of four companies brewed night and day to design a white Brooks saddle. True innovation! You get to spend 400 dollars to customize your saddle by tie dying it with expensive selvege denim and ball sweat.

NZNZday!

Kyoichi and NZNZman cruising the streets (and restaurants) of Japan. I don't know about the rest of you, but I love these glimpses into urban Japanese life. You also get to see Kyoichi's new JAN frame in action...
