I think I'm going to try these
JOL/Gurney straps. They look very easy to install/uninstall without any tools or hardware so I could easily ride to a spot, pop them off, mess around for awhile, then stick them back on and go home with minimal hassles.
There is a week or two wait on them right now, so I'll repost with my impressions once I have them in hand...

those do look pretty handy. i was considering getting some "old-school" power straps, but these look a bit hardier. looking forward to your opinion on them.
This does look interesting, and solid as hell.
