Tang-Tang

Took this photo while I was packing some DVDs this morning. This is my cat, enjoying the fruits of my labor. Weighs 23 lbs. and sleeps 23 hours a day.

Things are Still Weird

Everyone knows that the '80s was a strange time to be alive, as evidenced by this oddball contraption...

But the more things change, the more they stay the same...

The Flowboard, a snowboard for the streets. Apparently skateboards just don't have enough wheels. I'm not going to lie though, I wouldn't mind trying one of these out just to see what it feels like...

Budos Band in RE:UP Magazine

I have no idea what RE:UP Magazine is all about, but I was poking through some magazines today and saw that the Budos Band, who generously contributed a song for us to use in BSv.2, has an interview in this month's issue. Very interesting reading, it sounds like these guys are really coming up big time, which makes sense because they're putting out some of the heaviest grooves I've heard in years.

Brooklyn

I loved it there. You can't experience NYC properly if you stay in a hotel and do the tourist thing, you have to stay with someone who lives there and follow them around a bit. Thanks again, Luke and John! Hopefully I'll get a chance to visit again sometime soon...

Still the Jam

Loved this song when I was a kid, and it still does it for me today...

J. Martinez BFF photos

Jose Martinez creates absolutely amazing stuff with a camera. That's all there is to it. Check out these photos from the Bicycle Film Festival in NYC. Incredible.

When you get to be in one of Jose's pics, it feels like you're part of a work of art. Sounds corny, but it's true. I speak from personal experience...

Everything in the photo is black and white except for the bike frame and the two ladies in the background. Genius.

Here's another photo I like, mainly because many of the people I got to hang out with in NYC are in it...

For anyone who might be curious, I'll go through who everyone is...

Sitting from left to right: Me, Max from London who created the walking bike, Tom LaMarche, Jason Maggied, Tom Mosher, Zach from Seattle, unknown, and Lyla from NM who's name I probably spelled wrong.

Standing from left to right: Josh from Philly, Tony Fast who didn't wear a shirt the entire weekend, Amanda, Prolly, Sam Miller (in the purple jacket), unknown, Julie Benedetto, unknown, and Dylan who starred in "Get Faster" which was hilarious.

Good times.

I Love Japan.

So I got back from NYC today and I was already feeling like a million bucks because I had such a kick-ass trip, and guess what I found waiting for me at home? A box from Kyoichi Ozaki filled with TONS of goodies.

A couple of months ago I had jokingly given Kyoichi a hard time because it seemed like everyone else in America had a 3BANCHO sticker on their bike except for me, and so not only did he send me stickers, he also included an entire pack of stuff from Hugeblocks, JAN, and of course 3BANCHO...

This stuff is all incredibly nice. The print on the 3BANCHO and JAN shirts are reflective, as are the Hugeblocks belts, and the short-brim Hugeblocks cap probably won't leave my head for quite a long time. There has to be some way to order this stuff outside of Japan, it's definitely worth it. If I find out any details, I'll be sure to post them.
