I still remember very clearly the first moment when I learned how to ride a bike. The sensation of achieving the perfect balance was so powerful back then, and it still has me hooked today. My kid experienced that for the first time yesterday. He turned four years old recently, so I figured it was time to take off the trainers. I stuck a bunch of pads all over him like the typical overprotective parent, assuming he was going to eat pavement a few times. This is what he did...
