Let's talk about FUMIKIRI

One of the shorts that was included in many of the Bicycle Film Festivals this year was a production by the JAN crew called Fumikiri. In case you haven't seen it already, here is a trailer that they put out for the short BFF edit in June...

Recently I was fortunate enough to see the full version of Fumikiri that premiered at the BFF stop in Tokyo (I didn't see it in Tokyo, the JAN crew sent it to me), and it kills. The final edit has evolved tremendously from when the above trailer was done, there are several new riders and lots of new footage, and the way the whole thing is filmed and put together is really top notch. Very smooth and beautiful. Most importantly, you get a great feel for how guys ride in Japan and how much fun they have, and the personality of everyone involved really comes out.

The best part about all of this is the fact that hopefully we (meaning Ride/Relax Productions) are going to be able to distribute the Fumikiri DVD here in the U.S. for a reasonable price. Importing anything from Japan is a bitch right now because of the ridiculously weak $, but we're talking about having us actually press the copies we're going to distro ourselves here in the states which would save a lot of cake.

So, in short, the full blown Fumikiri will hopefully be coming sometime this winter, so stay tuned. We'll probably have a limited run of this, and you definitely don't want to miss out...!
