The Schwinn "Cutter" explained

Schwinn's new fixed offering is called the "Cutter," and it's retailing as a complete for a paltry $299. Looks totally normal from this angle...

...but then you get a different angle view, like this one that I saw on hkfixed.com...

Look at the width of those bars! Are those really part of the standard build on these things? If so, then obviously the term "cutter" means that the first thing you need to do when you buy this bike is take a tube cutter to those airplane wings and knock off about 40 inches or so...

This is a bummer. The Madison is already a decent, cheap FG. The "Cutter" idea, the nostalgia, the simple, black set up, it deserves to be a nicer bicycle. Schwinn is just so disappointing in so many ways.

At the price you won't have to feel bad about beating it like a rented mule on the streets.

ps. I am not condoning man on mule violence.
