Track Bike Times means business

Our man and SF resident Matt Rice has just put his stamp on the internutz with TrackBikeTimes.com. There is a serious edit that you don't want to miss on the front page, and you can expect more to come in the near future...

Not to rain on anyone's bike but the Niklas Pearce Custom Elite in the Bike Check section has some issues: he's running a Sugino crank with a Campy BB. Ignoring the fact that the spindle length is different (75's require a 109mm while the Pista is a 111mm, 2mm's, meh); Campy BB's have slightly more taper than Japanese BB's. If the bike is going up on a wall then good, but when he puts stress on the cranks it's going to round out both components.

If it's a Campagnolo Chorus BB it's fine. Sugino 75's are not JIS taper, they're ISO taper. Riding a loose-ball 75 BB is always a bad idea too...

campy bottombrackets are ISO taper as prolly said and so are 75s, so that is not a problem, also the length is not really an issue either. it is an extra 1mm on either side that it will be spaced out, so it wouldnot really affect thechain line if the bike is set up right

I stand corrected. Thank you, gentlemen.
